We support underserved youth, the elderly and veterans by connecting them with the healing power of animals and nature through scholarships and no fee offerings. We help rescue animals and people find comfort, build life skills and relationships together while reducing anxieties, using principles of positive reinforcement training and mindfulness. Our serene, 200+y.o. 115 acre working farm is the perfect setting to experience peace and JoY.
Leslie's equestrian background is in upper level 3 Day Eventing, Pony Club and field hunting. She's always been enthralled by animals and nature, preferring to play with her various pets and Breyer horses in forts she created under bushes instead of Barbies in playhouses. Leslie achieved her dream of getting her own horse, using her allowance and babysitting earnings, at age eleven. She renovated an old chicken coop and worked off expenditures to keep her horse. Glendevon Stables was formed nearly 40 years ago after returning from time training and running esteemed barns in Middleburg, Va and Lexington, KY. Since then her business has broadened considerably with her interest in psychology, dog training and animal rescue. Leslie is now extremely passionate about providing anxious kids a break from screens and giving them healthy and fun alternatives that grow their compassion, confidence and connection. She loves sharing the empowering benefits of time spent amongst animals and nature with anyone feeling disconnected or struggling with mental health issues.

"Langbank Bonnie" Our amazing reg Clydesdale found as a 2 yo at The National Show and Sale, where she was shown by a partially paralyzed gentleman in a motorized scooter! It was clear she was unfazed by anything, and had an exceptionally generous heart! Bonnie's since also defied many stereotypes and proven her athleticism n brains to excel at everything she's done, from foxchasing to movie star in Billy and Blaze!
SilknSatin ~ is no less special than Bonnie, and also starred in Billy and Blaze. Satin, a Morgan horse previously ridden western, came to us with a bit of a bad reputation and defensive habits. She's blossomed here, learning to jump and enjoy dressage, field hunting and all the silliness her students desire. Satin has far exceeded our expectations and reminds us that everyone deserves understanding and a second chance.
Colonel Mosby ~ is a true gentleman who loves to show off n share his great training from his past life on the western QH circuit, in dressage, hunter/jumpers and foxchasing. Mosby arrived here with some vices that reflected his anxieties from much time showing and staying stalled. He has relaxed and thrived living out in our lush fields. His riders are able to trust him to teach them new skills or take them safely across country.
Lady ~ was a beloved camp n lesson horse who'd previously only been driven by the Amish, then rescued by her generous owners and treated for cancer. A gorgeous Haflinger horse, she lost an eye but gained a beautiful final chapter in her life, being adored and teaching resilience.
Brookside Merit ~ our small Welsh pony, was an amazing ambassador to the smallest kids, building their confidence across country, playing games, or sharing that winning feeling at first shows. She came to us with no riding experience after retiring as an older broodmare and demonstrated that we can all keep learning new skills and sharing our gifts.
In addition to these large animals our farm is home to an assortment of small furry n feathered friends who are guaranteed to elicit laughs!
